2017 has been an eventful year for JFM, to say the very least. We have seen a number of exciting changes take place that have set the company up to build on previous successes. Let’s take a look at some of the major landmarks.
ARMA – JFM now Full Members
JFM are now full members of ARMA (Association of Residential Managing Agents).
The management team at JFM have only ever worked for ARMA managing agents and since day one we have followed their better principles.
Keen to align ourselves with leaseholder interests, we achieved LKP accreditation in August 2015. Read more here: https://www.jfm-management.co.uk/jfm-achieves-lkp-accreditation/
We feel that joint-validation by these organisations sets our company apart. On one hand, LKP accreditation demonstrates our commitment to ethical practices. On the other, ARMA has refined our procedures and improved our resources.
New Office
In June 2017, JFM upgraded our office for the third time since launching in 2015. We are now based at the following address:
Middlesex House,
130 College Road,
Harrow-on-the-Hill,
HA1 1BQ
It’s indicative of the London property market at present that the business has needed to move twice in quick succession. This is owing to redevelopment of our previous locations from commercial to residential premises. JFM have now settled in Harrow and are delighted with our new space. We have obtained a 5-year lease which brings us the required stability to serve our clients as best possible going forward. We also have plenty of room to ensure we don’t run out of space as we steadily grow the business. What’s more, we are now better connected (transport-wise) than ever before, being situated next to Harrow on the Hill tube station.
New Clients
Despite placing a hold on marketing in Summer 2016, prospective clients have continued to make enquiries, resulting in a steady stream of new customers. Some of the new arrivals include:
Jasmine Gardens – 33 flats, Harrow – Joined 1 April 2017
Park View Estate – 90 flats, Woking – Joined 1 July 2017
Hyrstdene Estate – 18 Houses, Croydon – Joined 12 July 2017
Oakdale Lodge – 12 flats, Hendon – Joined 14 August 2017
New Staff
With the business growing steadily we have invested in new personnel who are already making waves and moving the company forward.
Vivian Emanuel, Assistant Property Manager
Vivian is a graduate of surveying and brings with him solid leasehold property management experience. He joins us on a training programme and will be taking on a number of estates while studying towards his IRPM qualifications. Vivian has a passion for football and even manages a team in his local area.
Rachel Hopping, Administrator/Trainee PM
Rachel has joined us initially to bolster the admin team and will, in time, move into the property management team. Rachel has almost three years’ experience in support roles and is also studying towards qualification through the IRPM. Rachel has a passion for theatre and has been involved the production of a play in Soho, Central London.
The Future
With resources now significantly bolstered, we will be turning our attention to increased growth for the remainder of 2017, and early 2018. We will be looking to build on our portfolio of 46 blocks/estates and 1599 units under active management. To foster this growth, we will be developing our operations to make them even more efficient. This will ensure that we can continue to improve the experience of customers throughout our portfolio.
We would encourage any RMC Director who is interested in switching their block management agent to get in contact with either of the Managing Partners. We’re flexible and always helpful in providing solutions to those legal obstacles that can often make switching agents difficult.
As we seek to look outward into the industry once again, we will be doing our bit to support the positive change that has been happening in the sector. For example, both Managing Partners will be attending the upcoming All Parliamentary Group on Leasehold Reform on 11 September 2017. The group will be meeting to look at solutions concerning leasehold scandals and Commonhold reform and will be attended by housing minister, Alok Sharma MP.
As JFM work through our third year of trading, we continue to overcome challenges and achieve new goals. It’s a very exciting time to be part of the JFM Team.
